Product Features

•
Implantable pneumatic ventricular assist device designed to replace the function of a failing heart.
•
Connected to the left atrium at the inlet and the descending aorta at the outlet in order to minimize damage to the cardiac muscle, as occurs with other ventricular assist devices.
•
Driven by an actuator worn as a belt; its small size reduces problems created by larger external actuators.
•
In early development stages, with initial regulatory approval expected in 2009.
